Selection Trials & 86th Australian Athletics Championships
Queensland Sport & Athletics Centre
Live audio stream - Listen now!
The Australian Athletics Championships will return to Queensland Sport & Athletics Centre from Thursday, February 28 to Saturday, March 1, 2008.
Incorporating the Selection Trials for the 2008 Olympic Games - to be held in Beijing, China in August - Australian and international track and field stars will give their all across a host of pulsating events.
With a rich history that has stretched to almost every major city in Australia, the 86th edition of the meet is the second of a three-year stint in Brisbane.
In 2007, the championships concluded a successful domestic season for many athletes, none more so than Gold Coast sprinter and hurdler Sally McLellan who set a new Australian record over the 100m hurdles in the very last event of the day.
It followed a weekend of stunning performances, the evening sessions a particular favourite with the passionate Brisbane public.
