Zatopek Classic - National Series Meet

The Zatopek Classic is the oldest named distance running meet in the world. Held in Melbourne each December, it is a night of sizzling distance races. Named for Emil Zatopek, the legendary distance runner who rose to prominence at the London Olympics in 1948, the meet is the premiere distance event on the Australian calendar.
Distance greats such as Ron Clarke, Rob De Castella, Lisa Ondieki, Steve Moneghetti, Lee Troop and Craig Mottram have all stamped their mark on the Zatopek.
The Zatopek 10,000m is the Australian Open and Under 23 10,000m Championship.
