Alf Robinson Memorial Race Walking Foundation Winners - 2008

The winners of the 2008 Alf Robinson Memorial Race Walking Foundation for 2008 are Melissa Hayes (NSW) and Brendon Reading  (ACT).

Melissa Hayes who had her first international representation at the World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland finished 26th after winning the Under 18 Australian 5km championships and gaining 2nd in the Australian U20 5km championships.

Brendon Reading, after a second placing in the U20 Australian All Schools 10km championships, went to the World Racewalking Cup in Cheboksary, Russia and finished 43rd in a very strong field.

Both athletes are worthy winners of this year's Alf Robinson Memorial Race Walking Foundation award which was established in memory of a very special man who dedicated his life to athletics and race walking in particular - Alf Robinson.
