SBS in mix for ASC awards
SBS, the Australian athletics network, is among finalists for an Australian Sports Commission media award for its coverage of this year’s IAAF World Championships in Osaka.
Competing in the category of ‘best contribution to the coverage of sport - by an organisation,’ SBS will have some strong competition from Inside Sport, ABC Radio (2006/07 Ashes), Seven Network (2007 AFL coverage) and Nine Network (Amazing Adelaide - cricket).

Emma Simkin is also a finalist for ‘best contribution to the coverage of sport - by an individual,’ joining John Campbell (Byron Shire Echo), Steve Barker (Radio 2GB - 62nd Sydney to Hobart), Michael Dodge (Herald Sun) and Robert Drane (Inside Sport).
SBS provided live coverage of the marathons, walks and finals for each of the nine nights of the World Championships.
