Steffensen cleared

Commonwealth Games 400m champion John Steffensen has been cleared by Athletics Australia following a tribunal hearing in Sydney on Wednesday evening.

The tribunal, headed by Sydney barrister Jamie Nettleton, heard evidence relating to an alleged incident between Steffensen and national selector Glynis Nunn-Cearns on the warm-up track during the Australian All Schools Championships in Sydney in December.

The tribunal dismissed the complaint, leaving Steffensen clear to continue his Olympic preparations.

Athletics Australia accepts the tribunal’s determination.
