Vale Terry Harrison
Australia’s distance running community lost a popular figure on Saturday, October 20 with the passing of Terry Harrison.
The 1971-72 national 10,000m champion and father of Olympian Nick Harrison (marathon, pictured), Terry was a long-time member of Glenhuntly Athletics Club in Melbourne but continued after his halcyon days to run and support the developing veterans athletics movement.
Terry's national title was a memorable race in which he defeated the reigning Olympic champion Neftali Temu (Kenya) in a very tough encounter in Perth.
Athletics Australia extends its sincere condolences to Terry's family.
