Athletics Australia is proud to present the 2009/10 Athlete of the Year Awards, to be held in Perth on Sunday, April 18 at 7pm following the 2&5 Australian Athletics Championships and Commonwealth Games selection trials from April 16-18.

A great opportunity for athletes, coaches, officials, family and friends to celebrate a fantastic domestic season and the success of our nation's best ever result at the 2009 Berlin world championships, this annual occasion will bring together members of the athletics fraternity for a fun and exciting night recognising outstanding performances and contributions over the 2009/10 international and domestic seasons.

Headlined by the crowning of the 2009/10 Athletes of the Year, the event celebrates and showcases Australia's many talented track and field stars as we look ahead to a massive 2010 which will see the ever-growing Australian Flame travel to the sub-continent for the New Delhi Commonwealth Games.

Details of the event are as follows:

Date: Sunday April 18, 2010

Time: 7:00pm – 11:00pm

Location: Rendezvous Observation City Hotel, Scarborough

Dress: Lounge suit

Includes: A  two-course meal accompanied beverages including beer, local wine and soft drink

-          Flame Athlete of the Year (presented by the Athletes’ Commission)

-          Male Athlete of the Australian Athletics Tour

-          Female Athlete of the Australian Athletics Tour

-          Volunteer of the Year

-          Junior Coach of the Year

-          Senior Coach of the Year
