On February 13, 2010, international race walking comes to Australia
for the first time outside of a major championships. To be staged
along the scenic and world-famous Hobart waterfront, Athletics
Australia is pleased to announce IAAF Race Walking Challenge status
has been granted to the Australian 20km race walking championships.
Additionally, the inaugural New Zealand vs Australia race walking
test match will be staged on an action-packed night of
entertainment.
Athletics Australia will offer $10,000 in prizemoney for this
event, $5000 each for the winners of the open men's and
women's 20km walks.
