Sporting Career

Placing in hurdles, long jump and discus at the 2004 All Schools National Championships, Adam decided to concentrate on combined events. In his first heptathlon, at the 2005 Australian All Schools and Youth Championships, he broke the Australia under-16 record.

Battling injury slowed Adam down in 2006 and early 2007 but he still managed to post a World Youth qualifying performance. Representing Australia at the 2007 IAAF World Youth Championships in Czech Republic, Adam set another Australian record and took the bronze medal, tying for second place and moving to third on a count back.
