Under 17 National Development Squad 2006

National Youth Event Coaches have been appointed to assist the squad athletes and personal coaches.

The National Youth Event Coaches are:
Coaching Co-ordinator – Glynis Nunn-Cearns
Hammer Throw – Karyne Di Marco
Discus/Shot Put – John Minns
Javelin – Lindsay Burgoyne
Hurdles – Matt Beckenham
Sprints/Relays - Sharon Hannan
Distance – Nicky Frey
Walks – Brent Vallance
Long Jump/Triple Jump – Nicole Boegman-Stewart
High Jump – Sandro Bisetto
Pole Vault – Mark Stewart
Combined Events – Peter Hannan 

The National Youth Pathway will focus on two programs in the initial stages.

The National Under 17 Development Squad
Launched in 2006 this squad consists of the top two to four under 17 athletes in each discipline and is renewed annually. 

The National Under 19 Talent Squad
This squad commenced in 2007 and focuses on athletes who have the ability to take the next step to international success as a senior athlete.

The National Development Pathway supports the development programs run in each of the states, but provides national recognition to the gifted squad athletes and their coaches.

World Junior Championships Shadow Squad
To ensure the best possible results at the 2010 World Junior Championships, Athletics Australia are initiating a shadow squad of eligible athletes to monitor their progress and assist where we can in preparations. For more information, click here.
