2013 IAAF World Championships

The 2013 IAAF World Championships will be held in Moscow (RUS) on August 10-18, 2013.

Here you will find all relevant information on this Championship, as well as the Selection Policy for the Australian Flame team that will compete.

The Selection Policy for the 2013 IAAF World Championships was announced on Wednesday, October 24 2013. Athletes seeking selection are advised to very carefully read the policy to ensure they meet their eligibility obligations and are acutely aware of the selection philosophy.

Athletics Australia have also received notification from the IAAF that the qualifying period for the 10000m, race walks, combined events, relays and marathon started on 1 January 2012. For all other events, the qualification period will start on the 1 October 2012. This is an IAAF decision in line with the qualifying period for the World Championships in 2009. As such, any performances achieved to date will not count as a quaiifying performance for Moscow in those track and field events. You should plan your training and competition program accordingly.
