The national Athletics Australia Indigenous program is pleased to be able to report that 6 of the 11 Indigenous athletes selected for the Oceania team travelling to Samoa in December for the Oceania Championships have been involved with the national program.
Athletics for the Outback has been running for just under two years in it's current form and it is very pleasing that results are being seen at this level.
Equally important is the fact that the athletes are from four states namely Western Australia, New South Wales, Far North Queensland and Victoria.
Athletes are:
Peter Harrison VIC
Shakira Winmar VIC
Peter Tuccundidgee NQLD
Duan Daley NSW
Tennyson Strong NSW
Nathaniel Franklin WA
Kyle Vander Kuyp and Benn Harradine, strong supporters of the program will be team captains on the trip
We wish them the very best of luck in Samoa!
