Foundation grants up for grabs
The R.W. Clarke Foundation is now inviting interested athletes to
apply for its 2010 grants.
Each year grants are awarded by the R.W. Clarke Foundation to
assist young athletes, preferably between 16 and 23 years of age,
to compete at major domestic meets including national championships
and other high-level competitions, and to participate in relevant
training camps.
Preference will be given, but not restricted to, those athletes who
are not already receiving support under Athletics Australia's
high performance program, including the Australian Commonwealth
Games Association Junior Grants Program, the Australian Sports
Commission DAS Scheme, institute/academy scholarships and other
foundations or trusts.
To apply for a grant, athletes are invited to submit a personally
hand-written application to:

Faxed applications will not be accepted.
Applications will be considered by the R.W. Clarke Foundation
selection panel, consisting of a chairman (
Ron
Clarke’s nominee, presently
Trevor
Vincent), an Athletics Australia representative and one
other nominated individual (presently
Len
Johnson).
All awardees will be expected to provide a report to the Foundation
on their progress in the sport within 12 months of receiving
assistance.
Applications for the 2010 grants close on Friday April 23,
2010.
