Athletics the ONE for entertainment

Tonight world, Olympic, world indoor and Commonwealth Games champion Steve Hooker, Olympic silver medallist Sally Pearson, national 5000m record-holder Craig Mottram and national 10,000m record-holder Collis Birmingham will be just some of the big-name stars set to hit television screens across the country as the Great North City Games take over ONE HD from 11:00PM (AEST).

Just one week on from the fiercely-contested meet that saw traditional rivals England and Australia go head-to-head in  a battle for bragging rights on the streets of Newcastle-Gateshead (ENG), athletics fans Australia-wide will be able to catch all the action and excitement of the event without leaving the house.

With Hooker and Pearson fronting up the green and gold charge and English favourites Marlon Devonish and Andy Turner flying the flag for the Poms, an immense battle and an outstanding display of athletics was played out on the streets of Newcastle-Gateshead between the two traditional rivals.

Catch Hooker, Pearson and all your favourite stars of track and field in their final hit-out ahead of next month’s Commonwealth Games tonight on ONE HD from 11:00PM and again at 11:00AM (AEST) on Friday, October 1.
