After a tight hamstring forced former 100m men's world record holder Asafa Powell to withdraw from the Semi-Finals of the Australia Post Stawell Gift on Monday, the Jamaican superstar will undergo medical testing before deciding on whether he can compete in the Qantas Melbourne World Challenge.
After easing up in his heat at Stawell, Powell had hoped to still run in Monday's Semi-Finals but was still bothered by his leg and subsequently withdrew from the pro race.
He will now return to Melbourne to have an MRI on his injured leg.
No decision on further competition will be taken until the results of the MRI have been analysed.
