Obituary:

25/6 Bob Grant (26 Apr 34) the 1956 Olympic javelin representative passed away after battling pulmonary fibrosis. Bob was Australian javelin champion 1955,56,57 and was 2nd in 1954. He was Victorian state champion on 5 occasions as well as decathlon champion in 1956. Bob’s best throw was 65.76m, which he threw in the Qualifying round of the 1956 Melbourne Olympics just missing the final. Bob was a teacher for many years at Scotch College where he was also a student and represented Old Scotch Athletic club during his athletic career. He later taught at Geelong College where he also continued his involvement in school sport.
