Athletes Commission 

The Athletes Commission for Athletics Australia was reformed in 2007. The role of the Athletes Commission is to provide a link between the athletes, the Board of Directors and Athletics Australia. Athletes elected to the Athletes Commission hold office for a term of four years and were elected in Beijing in 2008.

Current members of the Athletes Commission are as follows:
•    Bronwyn Thompson (Chair)
•    Luke Adams (Vice Chair; Distance Running and Walking Advisory Committee representative)
•    Justin Anlezark
     Clinton Hill
•    Sarah Jamieson (International Tours Advisory Committee representative)
•    Katrina Webb
•    Kylie Wheeler (Coaching Advisory Committee representative)

The Athletes Commission has recently been involved in:
•    Post-Olympic evaluation for Beijing, 2008
•    Looking at appropriate athlete representation on committees
•    Improving communication and awareness of the Athletes Commission
•    Feedback on the 2009 world championships uniform design
•    Establishing a new process for selection of the Athletes’ Athlete award
