 Teams

As part of the national indigenous program we will be looking at forming state teams to represent at the Indigenous championships held annually in Newcastle NSW.

2006 saw small teams from Western Australia, South Australia and Queensland travel to Newcastle in New South Wales to participate in the annual Indigenous championships. This event saw more than 350 athletes taking part in the 2 day championship held at the Hunter Sports Centre. Athletes also participated in coaching sessions conducted by elite athletes, Kyle Vander Kuyp, Josh Ross, Patrick Johnson, Nova Peris Batman, Robbie Crowther and Benn Harradine.

Interstate athletes also had the amazing opportunity of dining with Kyle, Nova, Benn and Josh who spent the evening regailing stores of their experiences, rewards and the reality of being and elite athlete. Stand out athletes of the meet were Yula Monkland from Queensland and Rodney Blair from New South Wales.
