High performance planning update
Under the leadership of new High Performance Manager Eric Hollingsworth, all areas of high performance are currently being reviewed with a view to implementing a new high performance plan.
The review process will take place over the next two months during the Australian domestic season, where the 'state of the nation' will be assessed. This will include:
• Evidence-based understanding of where Athletics Australia High Performance is at and where it needs to be ahead of London 2012
• Consultation with all the relevant stakeholders of the sport including athletes, coaches, member associations and the SIS/SAS network
Following the review the information will be collated and a new plan presented to the Australian Sports Commission that will include:
• Vision and future directions
• An operational-costed budget
• Athletes
• Coaches
• Environment
Following the Berlin World Championships the plan will be presented to the wider athletics community and implementation of the plan initiated.
