Rob Blackadder has been named Athletics Australia Volunteer of the Year for the 2008/09 season at the Athlete of the Year awards luncheon following the national championships in Brisbane.
Rob, who was very surprised when his name was announced, has given much to the sport over many years and was thanked for his contribution to the technical area in particular.
Rob was instrumental in attaining and training the 'tie down' crews for the seated throwing events for the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games involving students from Musswellbrook High School, 500km from Sydney.
Rob is recognised as a total professional in all that he does and his mentoring skills are second to none.
Congratulations Rob!
