Athlete of the Year awards to honour season's best
After an outstanding domestic season and our most successful Olympic Games in 40 years, it’s time to celebrate.
Athletics Australia is proud to present the 2008/09 Athlete of the Year awards on Sunday, March 22 at Rydges Southbank, Brisbane.
The awards will honour the very best performers in what was a standout year for Australian athletics on both the local and international circuits.
A total of 13 awards will be presented to the top athletes, coaches and volunteers with awards in all categories set to go right down to the wire.
Will
Steve Hooker, the first Australian to win an Olympic gold medal in a field event in 60 years, round out his stellar season with Athlete of the Year honours?
Will
Jared Tallent’s medal haul on debut at the Beijing Games see him across the line? Or will
Sally McLellan’s unforgettable silver at the Games and recent domestic season earn her the nod?
