Loaded fields in Burnie Ten

Defending men’s champion Collis Birmingham will compete in Sunday’s Skilled Burnie Ten, Australia’s premier 10km road race.

Birmingham leads a strong men’s field including Chiba Ekiden-selected trio Mark Tucker, Erwin McRae and Ben St. Lawrence along with World Cross Country Championships representative Martin Dent and regular Kim Gillard and David Ruschena.

Lisa-Jane Weightman, who competed in last weekend’s World Road Running Championships in Udine, is the most high-profile women’s entrant with Ekiden team members Sarah Lofts and Eliza Stewart to also test their wares.

Over 3700 runners are confirmed, with the entrant list available here

Entrants can register on the day at $50 per adult.

Prize-money for first place (men and women) is $3500, second is $1200 and third $1000. Commencing at 11:15am in Burnie’s CBD, the race will follow a fast out and back course.
