Mudgee Marathon well run

The Mudgee Marathon weekend over August 25 to 27 provided over 150 participants with sunny conditions for the three categories of events.

With around one third of all participants completing in the 5km Fun Run, Peta Travers-Jones took out the women’s category in 20:19 while Nicholas Kastelein took out the men’s in a time of 17:08.

Nicholas then got serious for Sunday’s Pieter Van Gent Half Marathon and placed first again in a time of 1:19:26. Catherine Murray was the first woman across the line in 1:36:35.

Carol Lapsys won the Bevco Marathon this year in the women’s category, completing the course in 3:24:09 while Paul White completed the men’s in 3:07:46.

Participants were well supported by the SES, volunteer marshals and a host of official vehicles. Race organisers were happy to report a successful weekend void of any major incident.
