The Skilled Burnie Ten is Australia's premier 10 km road race. The 23nd annual event starts at 11:15am on Sunday, October 21, 2007 in the heart of Burnie's central business district, on Tasmania's NW coast.

Wheelchair start: 11:30am
Assembly area: Cattley Street

Race day information

Runners will start at 11:15am and wheelchair entrants will start at 11:30am. Assembly is at the intersection of Wilson and Cattley Streets. There are toilet facilities at the Burnie Council car park, Burnie Surf Life Saving Club, the multi storey cark park and on course.

Seeded runners listed in the programme are permitted to start at the front of the assembly area. Runners must stay in the right hand lane of the highway at all times.

The Skilled Burnie Ten's electronic race timing system will provide runners with an accurate and valid race time whilst avoiding congestion and delays at the finish line.

Course route: A fast out and back course on dual lane highway. Starts 11.15am on Sunday, October 21, 2007 South of Wilson and Cattley Street intersection, opposite the Post Office, proceeding south along Wilson Street to Bass Highway. Then east to the 5km turning point returning via Bass Highway and Wilson Street to start-finish line.

Any runner crossing finishing line without entering or without completing the full course may be subject to legal action. Runners must leave the finish line area immediately and proceed to recovery area in Cattley Street.

Cycles, roller skates, roller blades, inline skates, skate boards, scooters, pets, etc. are not permitted on the course.

Seeded runners will be permitted to start toward the front of the field and all runners must stay in the right hand lane of the highway at all times.

Walkers are advised to start near the rear of the field to ease congestion at the start of the race. The course will remain open subject to Tasmanian Police approval until the last competitor finishes.

Times are displayed digitally at finish line. They are available on a printed result sheet later that day, published in The Advocate and The Examiner newspapers the following day.
