The local hopes at the 2025 Chemist Warehouse Australian Athletics All Schools Championships sit with a star-studded Victorian team who will be out to defend Lakeside Stadium, headlined by World Para Athletics Championships medallist Kirra Wright and rising middle-distance talent Lucas Chis.

The championships will be held at Lakeside Stadium from December 4-7, with tickets available for purchase HERE.

Kirra Wright

School: Assumption College

Coach: Craig Chapman and Jo Kampf

Club: Diamond Valley

Events: U20 Para 100m, 200m, 400m, Shot Put

Already a World Para Athletics Championships medallist at the age of 17, Kirra Wright will be one of the most anticipated Para-athletes at the 2025 Chemist Warehouse Australian Athletics All Schools Championships. Claiming silver in the Shot Put F36 in New Delhi in September, the Assumption College also qualified for the final of the 100m T36 – hoping to replicate that double and more at Lakeside Stadium. With no throwing events on the 2028 Paralympic for her classification, Wright will look to continue her rise on the track where the 100m and 200m events are available to her.

Lucas Chis

School: Waverley Christian College

Coach: Ben St Lawrence

Club: Casey Cardinia

Events: U18 1500m

A smooth-mover with the credentials to match, Lucas Chis is pure class at 17-years-old. From 800m all the way through to 5000m, the teenager is developing as one of the nation’s brightest young talents. His best event remains the 1500m where he blazed to a personal best of 3:43.70 at this year’s Maurie Plant Meet before his 17th birthday, with next month’s showdown on his home track set to shape up his 2026 campaign which is ultimately geared towards the World Athletics Under 20 Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

Jamison Harding

School: Yarra Valley Grammar

Coach: Mark Stewart

Club: Box Hill

Events: U17 Pole Vault and 100m Hurdles

One of the youngest athletes ever to clear four metres in the pole vault, Jamison Harding is a versatile talent who competes across not just events, but sports. With a 4.10m personal best to her name in the pole vault as well as the Under 17 100m Hurdles national title earlier this year, Harding is a regular on the national podium and will be out to continue that at the 2025 Chemist Warehouse Australian Athletics All Schools Championships.

Karla Boras

School: Sacred Heart College Geelong

Coach: Alwyn Jones

Club: Athletics Chilwell

Events: U18 Triple Jump and Long Jump

Hitting the runway for the horizontal jumps, Karla Boras will be determined to make sure the Australian All Schools titles don’t head interstate in the hands of her rivals. The Sacred Heart College product owns personal bests of 12.84m in the triple jump and 5.90m in the long jump, winning both events in the Under 18 ranks at the Australian Athletics Championships in April. Boras will have the added incentive of chasing the 13.00m qualifying standard for the 2026 World Athletics Under 20 Championships, following in the footsteps of her sister Tiana who won triple jump bronze in 2022’s instalment of the championships in Cali, Colombia.

Ela Uzun

School: St Monica’s College

Coach: Ece Uzun

Club: Athletics Essendon

Events: U17 5000m Race Walk

Setting an Under 16 national record of 22:57 over the 5km Race Walk in Ballarat earlier this year, Ela Uzun continues to blaze her way through the junior race walking ranks. The 14-year-old set a personal best 22:42.45 at the Victorian All Schools Championships last month, with the St Monica’s College student putting her name forward as one of the athletes to beat in Melbourne.
