Making a complaint

"Have you got 5 minutes?". That's usually how a complaint or a report of misconduct starts. 

Engaging in any complaint process is challenging at the best of times for the strongest of people. Sometimes a form makes it even more difficult. A conversation with a human might be an easier way to get started. 

The main thing to know is that there is a place to raise questions, receive guidance and there is a complaints process that will be followed.

Complaints or reports relating to abuse, harassment, bullying, gambling, competition fixing or Code of Conduct breaches, can be reported confidentially to Australian Athletics in writing or by registering for a callback via the form below.

Reporting to Sport Integrity Australia

If you have reports or complaints relating to doping, child safeguarding, or discrimination, these are handled by Sport Integrity Australia and can be reported by clicking the button below.

You can also call Sport Integrity Australia on 1300 027 232 or use the 'Report an Issue' function on the Sport Integrity app.

  • 1800 Safe Sport line - The 1800 number (1800 161 361) has been created for members of a sport to share their story so a trusted member of Sport Integrity Australia can provide guidance around the options available.
  • Contact a Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) for information about your rights, responsibilities and options for raising a concern as well as support during the complaints process. Your club, member association or

  • Abusive or inappropriate online content can be reported to the eSafety Commissioner for action HERE.

  • Intentional Misrepresentation can be reported to Paralympics Australia for action. More information on IM can be found HERE and you can report via:

The table below lists sanctions imposed by Australian Athletics, the national governing body for the sport of Athletics in Australia.

Australian Athletics has zero tolerance for behaviour that compromises the safety, wellbeing and integrity of our sport, and remains committed to fostering a safe, inclusive and respectful athletics environment for all participants. We acknowledge the courage of those who raise concerns and remind the athletics community of their collective role in upholding the AA National Integrity Framework.
