World class athletes deserve world class tracks, and now track and field athletes across the country will have just that, as Polytan and their Rekortan track brand proudly take the helm as the Official Track Partner of Athletics Australia.
Polytan is the largest sports surface installation business in Australia and their Rekortan track range has featured in Olympics, World Championships and Diamond League events. 85% of all tracks in Australia are Rekortan track systems installed by Polytan.
In a new three-year partnership announced today, Athletics Australia, Polytan will join forces to redefine the standards of track surfaces across the nation.
Together, the sporting powerhouses will work towards enhancing infrastructure and facilities available to Australia’s growing athletics community, and improve the nation’s facilities footprint to better the sport.
Athletics Australia CEO Peter Bromley says that Rekortan, with more Olympic records than any other track system, and Polytan are the perfect addition to the Australian athletics family.
“From Olympic stadiums to local tracks, Polytan’s surfaces have set the standard for excellence within athletics and as we enter a golden era in Australia, this partnership will continue to elevate our sport,” Bromley said.
“Polytan will have direct communication to our Member Associations, clubs, coaches and technical committees through forums, and we look forward to coming together on a joint strategy to build more infrastructure, including the potential for the country’s first short track site.”
Australia’s athletes have had much success on Rekortan tracks domestically, with more than 100 Australian records and meet records broken throughout the season, along with 146 qualifiers for this year’s Olympic and Paralympic Games and World Under 20 Championships – a feat that Polytan is proud to be a part of.
