At Australian Athletics, we believe wellbeing is the foundation of sustainable high performance. Guided by our High Performance Strategy and the AIS Win Well philosophy, we are committed to supporting athletes, coaches, and staff to not only perform at their best, but to thrive as people. A holistic approach to wellbeing enables those in the high-performance system to grow, learn, and contribute meaningfully during their sporting careers and beyond the track, field and road.
The Wellbeing Hub offers practical tools, information, and access to support networks to help athletes navigate the demands of high performance. By fostering safe, inclusive, and sustainable environments, we are building a culture where health, balance, and personal growth sit alongside excellence in the green and gold.
Change points are an inherent part of the high-performance sport journey. Athletes and coaches may experience planned or unplanned transitions at any stage, including injury or illness, relocation, changes in funding or financial circumstances, selection or non-selection, classification changes, career transitions, and shifts in personal or professional identity. These moments can disrupt routine, performance, and wellbeing, they can also present opportunities for growth, reflection, and renewed direction. The role of the wellbeing team is to proactively support athletes and coaches through these change points, providing guidance, connection, and practical support to help them adapt, maintain balance, and thrive, both in sport and beyond it.
