There are separate record application forms to be used for claiming track, field and combined event records. These forms are available to download in PDF format below.
These forms can be used for claiming open and underage Australian records for both able bodied athletes and athletes with a disability.
For underage records, since 1st January 1998, the determination of age groups has been: to be recognised as the holder of an underage record, the athlete shall be under the specified age as at 31st December in the year of the performance.
When claiming a record, the following supporting documents are required:
The completed record application form and supporting documents should be mailed to Athletics Australia within 28 days. It is recommended that persons claiming records keep a copy of all documentation sent to Athletics Australia.
Australian records achieved by able bodied athletes are ratified by Athletics Australia records officer Ronda Jenkins.
Australian records achieved by athletes with a disability (AWD athletes) are ratified by Athletics Australia AWD records officer Neil Fuller.
