BIOGRAPHY

Ella Hose started her journey in athletics when she was introduced to the idea of ‘para’ sport by a teacher at her school.
“I was consistently coming last at lots of school carnivals and felt very discouraged. The idea of competing fairly in a sport through a classification was therefore a really amazing opportunity for me,” Ella said.
It turned around the sporting career of Ella who would go on to win 10 Australian titles in shot put and discus for her age group.
“I was able to progress in the school sport system through to a state level where I got picked for my first national team that year, which was super crazy to me, as I never thought I would ever be able to be ‘good’ at sports.”

At age 18, Ella Hose was the youngest female in the Australian team for the 2023 World Para Athletics Championships – her international debut. The Victorian thrower was named in the F37 shot put, placing fourth with a distance of 10.01m and in the discus where she placed sixth with 24.72m.
In 2024 she has continued to make significant progress in the shot, reaching a best of 11.15m at the Australian Championships in April.

Mid-year she was named in the Australian team for the Paralympic Games to be held in Paris. She will compete in the F37 shot and discus events.

Formerly coached by Gus Puopolo, Ella is now under the guidance of John Eden.
