Matt's Bio
Matt's journey into the sport began through his children's involvement in Little Athletics, where he remains deeply engaged as the Club President of Northern Districts Little Athletics in Sydney’s northern suburbs. What started as a volunteer role in his local club quickly grew into a broader passion for officiating, thanks to the support and mentorship of fellow officials.
Today, Matt holds a Bronze World Athletics Referee accreditation and aspires to contribute as part of the officiating team at the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games. Building from years of experience officiating Little Athletics, he has gone on to pivotal roles in several major events, including the past five Athletics Australia National Championships, the National All Schools Championships, and various Invitational meets.
Matt is also a proud member of the Athletics Australia Officials Operations Committee, where he is passionate about supporting the growth of officials across the country. He is dedicated to offering the same encouragement and guidance he received early in his officiating roles, helping others develop and thrive in the sport.
