International Classification Nomination Form

Athletics Australia, in partnership with Paralympics Australia and World Para Athletics, are looking to host international classification* for athletes with a physical impairment in the first quarter of 2024. No details are confirmed at this stage, but discussions have begun with WPA to find a suitable host competition on the East Coast of Australia between January and March, 2024.

*Subject to the availability of WPA Classifiers

This submission is an expression of interest and does not guarantee any para-athletes placement on the 2024 International Classification schedule.

International Classification Confirmation

Para-athletes accepted onto the international classification schedule will be notified two weeks prior to International Classification taking place. The Classification Schedule and Classification Schedule Announcement is at the discretion of WPA. Athletics Australia will be unable to confirm your allocation of international classification prior to this date. 

International Classification for athletes with a visual impairment in 2024

Paralympics Australia in collaboration with WPA and Athletics Australia will be looking to provide an out of competition, multi-sport international classification opportunity for athletes with a vision impairment in Australia in 2024. International Classification for athletes with a intellectual impairment in 2024

Virtus in collaboration with Sports Inclusion Australia, WPA and Athletics Australia have provided an opportunity for selected athletes with an intellectual impairment to access international classification in Australia in July 2023. We will review the demand to host international classification for athletes with an intellectual impairment in 2024 and communicate the next opportunity to those interested.
