Webinar: World Athletics Ranking Meet Permit System
Athletics Australia will be providing three opportunities over the next two weeks to enable members of the Australian athletics family to attend a webinar explaining the new World Athletics Ranking Meet Permit system which will begin operation from 1 January 2023.
The webinar is being offered three times to enable those interested to select the date which best suits their availability over the holiday period. The same material will be covered in each webinar so attendance should only be required once for those wishing to know more about the system and the impact it will have on athletics in Australia.

About the New System
In summary, the new system significantly restricts the number of meets across the world at which athletes can achieve world ranking points, top list performances, competition entry standards, records etc.
It is essential that athletes, technical officials, coaches, parents and support teams – even fans – are across the new system in order to avoid disappointment after the fact and more importantly plan competition programs with certainty.
After a year’s planning and trials, World Athletics has recently finalised the documentation for the system, and we are now keen and ready to present a user-friendly explanation to the Australian athletics family.
