2023 COMMONWEALTH YOUTH GAMES
The 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games will be held in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago from 4-11 August, 2023.
PATHWAY
These championships represent an important development opportunity for athletes within the pathway, and Athletics Australia (AA) intends to support a team in attending these championships.

EVENT LISTThe following events will be staged at the meet. Men: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 110m Hurdles, 400m Hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put, Discus, Javelin Women: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 100m Hurdles, 400m Hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put, Discus, Javelin Mixed Relays: 4x100m, 4x400m Men: 100m T38 (Eligible Sport Classes: T35/36/37/38) Women: 100m T38 (Eligible Sport Classes: T35/36/37/38) |
ELIGIBILITYWe have been advised by the Commonwealth Games Federation that the athletics events will be open to athletes born in 2006 and 2007 only. Para-athletes will need to be born in 2005, 2006 or 2007. |

SELECTIONThe Athletics Australia Selection Policy and Online Nomination Form are now available on this page. Selection Standards - The selection standards for this event are outlined in the AA Selection Policy. Nomination Window - Nominations will close on Friday, March 24th, 2023. As a point of clarification related to section 3.2 of the selection policy, Para Athletes must be born in 2005, 2006 or 2007 to be eligible for this team. While the CGF’s sport guidelines state Para Athletes may be born in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 or 2009, Athletics Australia, with the support of Commonwealth Games Australia, have made the decision that athletes born in 2008 and 2009 will not be considered for selection to this team. |
