While all eyes will be on the Australians donning the green and gold at the World Athletics Championships and Commonwealth Games, there will be five more working tirelessly behind the scenes to make each competition as professional as they can be. 

Australian officials including 2022 Official of the Year Janet Nixon, Helen Roberts, Kirsten Crocker, Peter Hamilton and Athletics Australia GM, Competitions Brian Roe have been selected amongst the world’s most respected officials to take their mark at the World Athletics Championships and Commonwealth Games.

“A competitive endeavour, officiating is an important role in competition at all levels and ensures the integrity of our sport,” said Athletics Australia CEO Peter Bromley.

“It is a considerable honour to be handpicked for a major championships and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have five officials from our ranks put their knowledge and skills to the test at the World Athletics Championships and the Commonwealth Games.”
