Home | news | Gold Coast 2018 Qualification Standards released

The Qualification Standards and nomination principles for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games have been released, as Australian athletics looks towards our home Games from the 4 – 15 April 2018.

From Sunday 8 to Sunday 15, the track and field competition is set to take place at Carrara Stadium while the Race Walks will be at Currumbin Beachfront and the marathon taking place at Southport Broadwater Parklands. See more information about the athletics here.

With a full competition of able-bodied events, the Games will also include an intergrated para-athletics program that is double the size of the previous Games.

Athletics Australia is currently finalising its competition schedule for the 2018 Australian athletics season, with this information critical to finalising the Nomination Policy for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

In the absence of the Nomination Policy, and with the approval of Commonwealth Games Australia, below you will find information detailing the Nomination Principles for the Athletics Section of the Australian Team. This includes Qualification Standards for both Able-Bodied and Para-Athletics events.

Athletics Australia will publish the complete Nomination Policy upon confirmation of all relevant information and approval by Commonwealth Games Australia.
