In light of a recent review of the Selection Policy for the 2024 World Athletics Cross Country Championships, Athletics Australia has added the Australian Cross Country Trials to the Chemist Warehouse Summer Season calendar.
To be held at Stromlo Forest in Canberra on Friday, 1 March, the trials will be a key event for athletes nominating for the 2024 World Athletics Cross Country Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.
Results from the trials will be one component of selection, with the Athletics Australia Selection Panel confirming that results from the Australian 10,000m Championships and Australian Under 20 3000m Championships at the On Track Nights Zatopek:10 will also play a significant role.
Given the recent change of date and host by World Athletics, the Selection Policy is currently being finalised and will be communicated to athletes, coaches and the wider athletics community as soon as possible.
