Record numbers for Sporting Schools in Term 1

Home | news | Record numbers for Sporting Schools in Term 1

The new school year is off to a great start and Athletics Australia can now report that record numbers have joined the Sporting Schools program for Term 1.

A new record of 280 schools have signed up for Sporting Schools, which focuses on skill development, building a generation of active, healthy, sport loving children while most importantly having fun across both primary and secondary students.

Thirty-seven secondary schools have taken up Athletics Australia’s Active Aths program while 243 primary schools are on board for IAAF Kids’ Athletics.

This is a great achievement for all involved and wouldn’t be possible without the hard work from our accredited coaches delivering these programs all across Australia.

A big thank you also goes out to our coaching facilitators for training up these coaches and getting them ready for the school environment.

We hope to continue to grow these programs in Sporting Schools and Term 2 certainly promises to continue the momentum.

Term 2 funding is now open and is only open until Friday 23rd March so spread the word and get your local school to sign up today!
