Australian Athletics (AA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Teresa Dyson to the Board of Directors.
An experienced company director, Dyson has a broad range of expertise spanning the private and public sectors both for ASX-listed companies and significant Federal and State Government entities.
The President of AA Jane Flemming OAM welcomed the appointment.
“As a lawyer and qualified accountant, Teresa brings exceptional strategic, financial, commercial and media expertise to the AA Board,” Flemming said.
“Teresa’s experience across a range of community and not-for profit organisations also displays the depth of her background and her willingness to give back to the community.”
Based on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Dyson is currently a Non-Executive Director of Southern Cross Media Group (Chair), Shine Justice, Humm Group (Chair) and Invest Gold Coast.
She is also a Member of Chief Executive Women and a Director of the Stella Prize Inc.
She has previously held Director and Committee roles with Opera Queensland, Queensland Rugby League and the UN Women National Committee and Government Board roles with the Board of Taxation, the Foreign Investment Review Board and Housing Australia.
Dyson had a successful executive career both with Ashurst Australia (formerly Blake Dawson Lawyers) as a partner practising in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane (1997 – 2013), and Deloitte as a partner (2013 -2016).
She has Bachelor Degrees in Arts and Laws from the University of Queensland, and a Masters in Applied Finance and Taxation, and is a qualified CPA.
“I am delighted to join the Australian Athletics Board at this time as the sport heads towards a home Games in Brisbane,” Dyson said.
“Athletics is enjoying a golden period and I am excited to have the opportunity to make a contribution to the athletics’ growth and future success.”
