Media are now invited to apply for accreditation to cover the 2024 Chemist Warehouse Australian Athletics Championships.

The Australian Athletics Championships is the largest annual athletics event in Australia and the Oceania region, traditionally attracting more than 3,500 athletes from across Australia and the Pacific.

The 101st edition of the Championships will be the culmination of another impressive domestic season and also act as a key part of the nomination process for the Australian Olympic and Paralympic Teams travelling to the Paris 2024 Games.

For juniors and the next generation of talent coming through the ranks, the national championships will be a major hit out as athletes vie for national bragging rights and a chance to catapult themselves onto the world stage as selectors keep a watchful eye on them ahead of the World Athletics Under 20 Championships in August.

The Open and U20 Championships will take place over four days from April 11-14, and the Junior Championships (U14-18) will take place from April 15-19.

Media are required to apply for accreditation by Sunday, April 7, and will be contacted in the following days.

Any enquiries can be directed to Athletics Australia's Head of Media and Communications Sascha Ryner at sascha.ryner@athletics.org.au

Date: April 11-19
Location: SA Athletics Stadium, Mile End

Photographers and Content creators:

Media accreditation does not automatically grant the right to field of play (FOP) access. Due to the popularity of the meet, it will be at Athletics Australia's discretion which photographers will receive FOP access, with traditional media outlets and stakeholders as the priority.

Content creators will NOT be permitted to film Field of Play content due to the broadcast agreement with World Athletics.

Photographers must not produce or use any kind of moving images to sell, lend or otherwise grant any rights in relation to any content produced, to third-party publications or commercial entities. Photographers also must not produce or use any kind of moving images to sell to athletes during the Junior Championships (U14-18) with Sportspix as the exclusive photo agency for the meet.

If you are engaged as a contributor to any third-party outlets or entities, you must arrange for those third parties to agree to use the images (moving or still) for editorial purposes only and they must not be passed on to other brands or entities.

While independent content creators with commercial affiliations are not accredited by default, those accredited by our partners, such as PUMA or Chemist Warehouse, serve as notable exceptions.

Further Terms and Conditions will be distributed to accredited photographers and content creators on the acceptance of their accreditation. Any breach of these Terms and Conditions will result in accreditation being cancelled immediately, for that meet and any subsequent meets held by Athletics Australia.
