BIOGRAPHYStronger over the 800m as a junior, Adam Spencer ran 1:53.98 as a 15-year-old. While still in his teens, Adam clocked an impressive 3:39.94 1500m in 2021. In late 2021 he was off to college in the US, to study at Wisconsin. In his first year he won a bronze at the 2022 NCAA Indoors with the Distance relay team. Outdoors he made it to the NCAA 1500m final, placing 8th. He also brought his PB down to 3:37.40. During the NCAA season in 2023, Adam took his 800m best down by over three seconds, to 1:46.84, and at the NCAAs was third in the 1500m. Post the NCAA season, in Europe he lowered his 1500m best to 3:36.78 before, receiving a late call up and running a stunning 3:31.81 in the London Diamond League. The time moved him to number four Australian all-time. He was in August selected in the Australian team for the World Championships.
