With many athletes about to travel and compete internationally, it’s timely to remind all athletes of the Whereabouts responsibilities

For athletes on the:

Registered Testing Pool (RTP)

Athletes who have been selected by ASADA or IAAF and placed onto an RTP.  These athletes receive official notification of their inclusion onto the RTP via ASADA or the IAAF.

You are required to complete Whereabouts:

  • It’s your responsibility to ensure your Whereabouts locations and times include sufficient information (such as hotel room number, security gate code, specific directions about your room location) so that you can be located.

· Your 60-minute location must be accurate and easily accessible by a Doping Control Officer (DCO).

· You submit your upcoming three-month quarterly Whereabouts information on time.

· Ensure you provide the correct information and for the duration of the quarter.

  • You must update their Whereabouts information when your location circumstances change.

The accumulation of THREE strikes (Filing Failure and/or Missed Test) in a rolling 12-month period may result in an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) involving a ban from sport between one to two years.

If an athlete on the ASADA or IAAF RTP wishes to retire from competition, they must complete the ASADA Retirement Notification Form (on ASADA website)

All other senior athletes you will be on:

Domestic Testing Pool (DTP)

DTP athletes must keep their contact details up to date with us here at Athletics Australia.

Athletes on the DTP are not required to complete Whereabouts in ADAMS, however it is important they are aware of Whereabouts as they can be elevated to the RTP at any time.

Download the ADAMS APP (Apple, Android)

World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has built a free ADAMS app for smartphones which is available from Google Play and iTunes stores.

Athletes can enter, check and change their Whereabouts details at any time with just a few clicks.

Quarterly submissions of information can now be done using the ADAMS app.

ASADA recommends you submit this information using the ADAMS website until you are familiar with the ADAMS system.
