The IAAF World Under 20 Championships campaign of Australia’s 55-strong athletics team has been outstanding.

Set to return home with a trio of silver medals to Kurtis Marschall (SA, pole vault), Kirsty Williams (Qld, discus) and Alex Hulley (NSW, hammer throw), as well as a bronze for Darcy Roper (Qld, long jump), the team also delivered a further seven top-eight performances to ensure their position among the top-ten nations on the IAAF Placing Table.

Thirteen athletes improved their personal bests at Bydgoszcz 2016, while pre-championship competition in Mannheim (GER) saw Jack Hale (Tas, 100m) and Kurtis Marschall (SA, pole vault) eclipse the Australian under 20 records of their events

Congratulations to all the athletes, their dedicated personal coaches and Australian team staff on a job well done!
